We are accepting VIDEO SUBMISSIONS from adults (19 and up) by May 1st.

Send your headshot and resume as an attachment and your video as a YouTube link to info@nptheatre.org. But please read this page thoroughly before you submit

You must have local housing and your own car.

COLLEGE-AGE STUDENTS: You may apply for a “brother” or one of the six “narrators,” and you will receive a $100 per week stipend. You will also be offered another credit and educational opportunity as a technical or production-related job, such as Assistant Director, Assistant Choreographer, Dance Captain, Assistant Set Designer, Assistant producer etc.

Other Local Adults: As we have already cast the role of “Joseph” with an AEA contract, all other roles that are cameos (Pharaoh, Narrators, Potiphar, Potiphar’s wife etc) must be non-AEA as we are not able to offer a stipend for these roles.

NEW PARADIGM THEATRE VIDEO AUDITIONS
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

We are seeking versatile, energetic performers for our upcoming production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This is a vibrant, high-energy reimagining: the Narrators are inspired by the style of Six, bringing attitude, storytelling flair, and contemporary edge to this classic.

Audition Details:

  • We welcome performers of all vocal styles and backgrounds.
  • Prepare and videotape 32 bars of a song that showcases your style and fits the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice pop-rock musical style of the show. You may use material from the show.
  • Please sing with a track or pianist and not accapella.
  • Make sure you put the roles you are interested in in the subject line of your email.
  • Must submit by May 1st. You will hear back after May 17th.
  • College-age performers may not miss any of the listed rehearsals if they are cast as a “brother” or “narrator”. Other ADULTS must be available for the entire tech week and preceding weekend. You must also attend the July 19th Read and sing with the entire cast. Then you will be called TBD during the next two weeks from 2-8pm. You must advise us of any conflicts so that we can plan rehearsals effectively.

Roles:

Narrators (6) – Female presenting. Bold, dynamic performers with strong storytelling skills. Think Six: witty, present, commanding presence. Must be able to move, act, and sing in various styles (pop, country, rock, Elvis, etc.). Will serve as the connective tissue of the show, guiding the story and interacting with all characters. All ages.

Jacob- Joseph and the Brother’s dad. Would prefer an older actor (50 and up)

Pharaoh – Male, comedic, larger-than-life, must sing with energy and charisma. Able to perform in fun, Elvis-inspired style. Age 20-40

Joseph’s Brothers – 11 male roles, various singing styles and personalities. Must be comfortable with ensemble work, harmonies, and comedic acting.

Other Featured Roles:

  • Potiphar & Wife – Small roles requiring strong comic timing and character work.
  • Ensemble/Chorus – Strong singers and movers, versatile in style and energy.
